Wassa East MP educates market women, transport operators and communities on COVID-19

Member of Parliament (MP) for the Wassa East Constituency, Mr Isaac Adjei-Mensah on Tuesday, 31st March, 2o2o embarked on public education in Daboase as part of the effort to prevent the of spread COVID-19 in reaching the area although no case have been confirmed in the area.

Mr Mensah who took market women and transport operators through the prevention of COVID-19 pandemic, said the disease was deadly, and called on them to embrace the laid down protocols prescribed by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) which are among other things,  washing hands with soap under running water, using hand sanitizers and observing social distancing.

The MP stressed the need to avoid communal handwashing and sharing of hand towels and that they should endeavour to keep the approved social distance and constantly wash their hands with soup under running water.

Mr Adjei-Mensah later placed Veronica buckets, bowls, hand sanitizers and liquid soup at vantage points to ensure regular and proper hand washing.

He also distributed alcoholic based hand sanitizers to the market women, transport operators and some communities.

The market women and transport operators thanked the MP for taking them through the proper way of hand washing and the need to use hand sanitizers.
